Cycling Fun

It's yet another public holiday in Malaysia. It's a birthday of a Muslim prophet. Well, to us, it's another long weekend and the boys are obviously very happy that there is no school for them.

We thought it might be fun to get the boys outdoors as they are so addicted to their computer games nowadays. It was a choice between playing soccer or cycling. And since we haven't cycled together as a family for some time now, we chose the latter.

After inflating all 10 tyres of the bicycles and putting on all necessary protective gears, we were ready to go. Ai Jin, our neighbour's sweet daughter, joined us too! As we wanted to cycle out of our neighbourhood to the shops, we had to cycle in one single file. We formed a rather long line as there were 6 bicycles in total. It was quite a sight. The vehicles that were passing by us slowed down for us (or to look at us?). They didn't honk at us even when it was already green light for them when we had to cross the street using the traffic light.

When we arrived at the shops, we rewarded the kids with ice-creams for following the safety rules well. Secretly, I was so relieved the moment we got home. My head was dizzy with a good mix of pride, nervousness, stress and excitement. Afterall, it was the first-time our whole family cycled on the road.
