Bavaria Statue

I was told the bronze-cast statue of Bavaria was added to the Theresienwiese in 1850 and is meant to symbolize Bavaria's power and strength. She stands magnificently at 18.52 metres with a majestic lion at her side. Interestingly, the Oktoberfest, which is celebrated now until 4 October, is held right in front of her, the festive grounds the size of two football fields which consist of several beer tents and impressive mobile amusement park rides.

With her standing so tall, I could literally feel her watching over all of us, safe-guarding us.
