BFF

This was second best to an actual reunion. Video conference. There was lots of laughter and squeals of delights and excitement from all the hello's and it's so good to see you again's. When we realised we couldn't even hear each other due to the chatters from the children, we decided simultaneously to create ourselves some peace by sending the kids to watch TV.

After more how are you's and how's life treating you's, all of a sudden, we fell silent. This was the moment that struck us cold and hard in the face, that we had missed each other so much, that the video meeting couldn't bring us any closer, unfortunately, than just being able to see your face in my screen, full screen at its best.

That long pause of silence saw our eyes getting red and got our noses sniffing. Tears fell involuntarily but shamelessly, was it tears of joy? Was it tears of longing? Was it tears of so far, yet so close? How I had wished it was a real face-to-face reunion! When will I see you again? 2 years? 3 years? 5 years? When?! If only I know the answer.
