Döner

Eating out has become a rarity after moving here. So you can imagine how girlishly thrilled I was when we decided to stop at a Turkish Döner eatery yesterday for a stand-up (no chairs!) dinner after running some errands in a nearby town, Pasing.

Generously filled with salad, yogurt and thinly shed roasted veal in a Turkish bun, the taste isn't extraordinary, but it is delicious, especially when you are hungry.

According to Christophe, Döners are not sold in Turkey. The immigrants from there created it here and it became an overnight favourite amongst themselves and the locals.
