Every Fridays and Saturdays, a few minutes' drive from our house, is a huge flea market where people sell a wide range of new and used things. Watches, clothes for different seasons and occasions, toys, shoes, antiques, grandfather's clock, cables, old records, in-line skates, ores, books... all going at prices as low as 50 Euro cents.
We found several useful items at great bargains. For instance, Bart bought a pair of Adidas soccer shoes for a mere 50 cents. A kid's winter jacket for 3 Euros. Many were in very good condition and they could even pass off as new.
It was really fun for the boys, here they learned how to negotiate to the last cents. It was amusing to watch the deals being exchanged.
There was even a mini live band, right in front of a 20-footer container eatery selling drinks and snacks.
It was a rather untypical way of spending a Saturday morning, but one that I can easily get used to.
