The boys are so fascinated with their condensed breaths made visible due to the freezing point weather. With this temperature, these two would arrive at school with a red nose and rosy cheeks, not because of the 8 minutes of walking from home but due to the cold.
Their ever so happy smiley faces always melt away my harshness towards them - my pushing them to wake up, change, have breakfast, brush teeth, cream their faces, put on their jackets and shoes and out of the house, on time. These guys have no sense of urgency, no sense of time. They are true followers of life enjoyment. And I am the thief that is slowing robbing their innocence and childhood away, bit by bit, little by little, piece by piece.
They are so happy. Believe me, it is so hard to find the balance, to seek out for the fine line between reality and a child's purity.
Meantime, I will just have to re-educate myself to slow down, stop, pick up a flower (a stone, a nut or whatever), and admire it from their incorruptible angle.
